Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Hammocks and a Brazilian-like sling?

Each Latin American country has its own tradition and type of sleeping-sling. In some regions the hammocks are of cloth panels, others are made of a woven network with or without knots. Our hammocks are a woven network of cotton thread, without any kind of knot. This allows the hammock to be very light in weight and fresh. Also they stretch very easily so there are no limits on how to lay-down or sit on an hammock like ours, as they stretch to fit your position.

What's the difference between an American-style hammock and ours?

A Mayan hammock is a sling without that wooden bar at the extremities. It is typical from the Mayan culture in Mexico, and it was designed 3000 years ago by the Mayan indians. It is considered the most comfortable sling to sleep on. Chiropractors and Orthopedists normally recommend this kind of hammock for people that have back problems.

What are they made of?

Our hammocks are made of a cotton woven network. They have no knots.
